pics, pics and more pics!

IFC Two.
Central, Hongkong.
What I like about this building is that it's located nowhere near the other skyscrapers.
It's in a world of its own - isolated and solitary in photos.

The Grass is Greener on the Other Side.
Cyberport, Hong Kong.

Scaffolding.
Mong Kok, Kowloon, Hongkong.
Notice the strip of monochrome amidst the vibrant colours. Nice.

Back to School. Yay. (yeah right.)

shucks.

school starts tomorrow.

8am somemore.

double shucks.

i just realised i made a grave mistake in choosing GEMs lessons on tuesdays at 8am.

tuesday was the only day my timetable DIDN'T start at 8am. In fact, my tuesdays start at 3pm.

there goes my only chance to sleep REAL late.

sighhhhh.

Post-Hongkong Photos + Photoshopping!

I know lah, the trip is over. It was long over.

But my mind's still in hongkong, can?
It's called withdrawal symptom.

Sighhhh.

Agenda for today: meeting with members of the now-defunct SHM's YHC (Singapore History Museum's Youth Historian Club, and yes, I know we all love using abbreviations).

We were supposed to resurrect the club and get it back up and running.

And so, I met khai at CCK Mrt and for the first time in ages, I wasn't late. (Heh, actually, I WAS late - but at least i reached before khai.)

But there was one eeny weeny problem: Where were everyone?

There was only Desmond.

And Vee San.

And the 2 new staff members - Yeow Ann and Amarantha (whom they dearly refer to as Ama, which frankly, sounds weird 'cause they pronounce it as Ah Ma).

So what happened to the rest of the guys? Nadhir? Nasir? Yan Ping? Joanna? And many others?

Oh well, guess they're either busy with school/work, or - Ssshh - theyr'e no longer interested in the club.

So anyway, Yeow Ann and Ama brought us on a short tour of the museum. Oh, did i mention khai and me got lost inside the museum? We were waiting (very patiently) for Desmond under the big, old rotunda with stained glass.

The classic rotunda or dome with stained glass.

Heck, it's so big, dark and creepy you could lose yourself somewhere in there. And yes, i really mean creepy, especially when it got dark at around 630pm. Imagine getting locked up in there. (Think Night at the Museum - that kiddy movie in theatres now.)

Imagine this when it gets darker, and you're all alone. Creepy huh?

And so we walked around and we climbed the supposedly-haunted metal spiral staircase to the roof of the museum. The view was okay lah - nothing special.

The quaint little spiral staircase. I kinda like it - very vintage. But it's kinda fragile.

There was this circular history gallery where future visitors would have to walk like round and round and round along the circular ramps before reaching the actual gallery. Quite annoying, i'd say. And there's no toilet near that gallery. Imagine future visitors with small bladders. Tsk tsk, i forsee problems with the spatial layout and hierarchy.

Heh heh. School starting lah, must warm up engine abit. =(

Anyway, i took some photos of the all-new restored and expanded National Museum of Singapore. And btw, it isn't open to the public yet. When it opens, i dunno leh. I know, I know, I'm such a useless member of the museum. But hey, if u want a 'tour' of the unopened museum - feel free to ask me! Hey, what are friends for, right. I don't ask for much lah - maybe just free lunch.

For a week. Or two.

Facade of the old, restored National Museum.

I like how the new blends in with the old.

The minimalist interior. Classy, huh?

The view from the rooftop. Decent, but nothing breathtaking.

I like the framing of this shot. Heh.

That's all, folks!

For now.

=)
started from scratch and voila! - finally it's up and running.

thanks a gazillion to ijan for helping me set up this bloggie - the codes and stuff. tenjewberrymud! i owe you one. say, maybe macnoneh 50 cent ice cream?

oh yeah, thanks to colin too - for helping me with the tagboard.

there's more to come - but i need some sleep for now.

wish me luck!
